A big thank you to the many engaged community members who were able to join the OPSRRA-hosted presentation by Dr. Phillipe Lucas on “Biosolids Facts: Seeing Clearly Through the Sludge”.

The presentation (below) provided some eye-opening background on the land application of biosolids and it is important that everyone is well informed as the CRD finalizes long-term Biosolids Management Strategy (below). Comments on the CRD’s currently draft strategy must be received by June 3rd. OPSRRA has organized a petition on this topic and ask you to add your name before the end of November 2024 to make sure that our regional voice is heard at the CRD table.

The final approval of the CRD Board will take place on June 12, followed by a submission to the province on June 18th.
